TSC Members Making News and Winning Awards

TSC member are always making headlines it seems. We wish we could take all the credit for it and claim it’s because of the fantastic tools, training and support they receive from us. But, alas, that’s probably too simplistic an answer. Of course, all the things we do for our members have helped them get to where they are today. But there is no substitute for hard work, determination and skillful execution that has helped them to get the most from their businesses, as well as from themselves. Here are a couple of notable entries that we’d like to brag about.

Partners in Care Does it Again

Sally Olin of Partners In Care in Charlotte, NC has been selected as the 2008 Charlotte Business Journal Top 25 Women in Business Achievements Award winner. In the past 12 months, Sally has shepherded her company and its mission to new heights. Her current staff of 158 caregivers, CNAs and RNs boasts an incredible 93% retention rate, which by any measure is remarkably high for the in-home caregiving industry – indicative of the nurturing workplace that she has created and maintained for her hardworking employees. She has yet again achieved overwhelmingly impressive growth numbers by building her company’s multi-million dollar status in total annual revenue, including an astounding 19.7% growth in total annual revenue over the previous 12 months. Her achievements in client growth is equally impressive, with Partners In Care achieving more than 11% growth in billable hours over the previous 12 months.

While these exceptional growth and retention figures are a testament to Sally’s skills as a businesswoman and manager, her company’s performance is even more remarkable when you consider that she started the company only five years ago!

But Sally is no stranger to success. Over the last 12 months her business became the first in-home care company in North Carolina to win the coveted NOVA Award from the state; being named a finalist for the Better Business Bureau Consumer Foundation’s First Annual Silver Torch Award; and creating and expanding a partnership program with Charlotte-area assisted living facilities that is now serving as the model for similar partnerships around the country.

You go girl!

A Special Announcement and Congratulations

We are very proud to announce that Lawrence Klimecka, the husband of our super-human private duty trainer, coach, mentor and all around swell gal AnNita Klimecka, has been ordained as a deacon of the Roman Catholic Church. Becoming a deacon is no spontaneous decision; it requires an incredible amount of determination, commitment and hard work. The story began when Lawrence, who together with AnNita have always been active parishioners, decided that he wanted to play a more active and formal role in his community and provide comfort, support and meaningful assistance to those in need. After consulting with AnNita and the Church, Lawrence decided that becoming a deacon was the path he wanted to follow and spent much of the past 5 years pursuing his dream and fulfilling the Church’s rigorous training and initiation process.

Since becoming ordained, Lawrence has taken a special interest in doing charitable work for seniors, which includes volunteering his time for them at senior centers, visiting those that are home bound, administering to them in hospitals, and helping to raise money and provide resources for those in need, in addition to his numerous other responsibilities. We would like to extend our congratulations to Lawrence and AnNita and thank them both for making their community a better place to live.
